What is ‘Size Inclusive’ and what does it mean?

Hey heyyy! So let’s chat for a moment about what it means (to me) to be body positive and size inclusive. We’re starting to see it more and more as a movement, which is comforting and encouraging but we have to be careful not to shame one side while we’re cheering the other with statements like “real women have curves” and so on. At the same time, those on the more slender side of things should not go on whining and being combative because let’s face it, those rockin plus-size have had it rough. This isn’t to pity anyone, but to recognize the beauty standard struggle that many heavyset women face. The idea that certain stores and brands aren’t “for you”. We as a society have done a ridiculous job with inclusion and a phenomenal job with exclusion. Not identifying with certain brands or stores because of taste or style is one thing, but because of size?

That’s some crap.

Size-inclusive is all about embracing all of our sizes. Body positive is about loving yourself whether you are a size 0 or a size 28. It’s also about not shaming a size 0 when you’re a 28 and not shaming a 28 because you’re a size 0. We have plenty of other ways to get shot down and feel like lesser than, lets not add shopping to the list of things that make us mope.

Sooo with all of that said…here are a few shopping suggestions for some size inclusive spots. Happy shopping babes ❤

rue107-striped-dress rue107-burgundy-dress

Rue107 – sizes 2-28 $$$

Zelie For She – sizes 14-28 $$

Rebdolls – sizes 0-32 $

If you happen to find something you love at any of these spots (super hard not to!) leave me a comment and let me know what you found! If not, also leave a comment and let me know why you think it didn’t work out 🙂

Lotts of Love,

#NoStandards ❤

  1. Amber says:

The point about women respecting each other on both sides of the size spectrum needed to be said. I have always felt that beauty starts from the inside first and second, comes in many shapes, sizes and colors! You can recognize someone else’s beauty without questioning your own and vise versa. Thank you for saying this.
